Privacy Policy of TV (Android) Remote

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-04-21

This Privacy Policy explains what information the TV (Android) Remote app may use, why it is used, and what choices you have when using the app.

TV Remote is designed to control compatible TVs over your local network, support pairing, optional voice input, and optional media casting. The app is intended to keep as much data as possible on your device and local network.

Information the App May Use

Device and Network Information

To discover and connect to TVs on your network, the app may access information such as TV names, local IP addresses, service discovery details, and connection state.

Pairing and Security Data

If you pair the app with a TV, the app stores pairing-related information on your device, such as trusted device details and secure credentials required to reconnect to that TV later.

Settings and Shortcuts

The app stores your local preferences on your device, for example theme choice, auto-connect, haptic feedback, app shortcuts, active device selection, and similar convenience settings.

Voice Input

If you use the microphone button, the app accesses your microphone only for that feature. Captured audio is used to send your voice command to the connected TV or related TV service. The app is not intended to upload voice recordings to a developer-operated server.

Cast and Local Media

If you use casting features, the app may temporarily expose selected media from your phone to the target TV over your local network so the TV can load it. Selected media and related metadata may therefore be processed by the TV or by Google Cast components on the device.

How Information Is Used

The app may use the information above to:

Where Data Is Stored

Most app data is stored locally on your device. This includes app settings, paired device details, and other local state needed for normal operation.

TV Remote does not rely on a developer-run cloud backend for its normal remote-control workflow. Most communication happens directly between your phone and the TV on your local network.

Third-Party Services

Some features may involve third-party components provided by Android, Google Play services, Google Cast, or the TV manufacturer. For example, voice requests or cast playback may be handled in part by services outside this app.

Advertising and Consent

The app may display ads. Before requesting ads where required by applicable law, the app may use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to check whether a consent or privacy message must be shown to you.

If ads are enabled, Google and its partners may process information related to ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and privacy choice handling. Depending on the device, region, and your choices, this may include information such as the advertising identifier, IP address, basic device and app information, approximate location derived from IP, and ad interaction events.

The app itself does not use this advertising data to identify you directly. Ad-related data may, however, be processed by Google or its advertising partners under their own policies.

Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. For Google services, see: https://policies.google.com/privacy

For more information specifically about Google's advertising technologies, see: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Data Sharing

The app is not intended to sell your personal information. Data may still be shared with the connected TV or the relevant platform service when that is necessary to carry out the feature you explicitly use, such as voice input, app launch, or casting.

If advertising is shown, ad-related information may also be shared with Google AdMob and related advertising, measurement, fraud-prevention, and consent-management providers as required to serve ads or honor privacy choices.

Your Choices

Retention and Deletion

App settings, paired-device details, and similar local data remain on your device until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Ad-related and consent-related data processed by Google or other third-party providers is governed by those providers' own retention practices and policies.

Security

Reasonable steps are taken to store sensitive pairing data securely on the device. Even so, no software or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children's Privacy

This app is not specifically directed at children. If you believe personal information has been provided inappropriately, please contact the developer.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If that happens, the updated version will be published in the app and the effective date will be adjusted.
